Carbon Steel EN-45 bars contain mainly carbon (0.45–0.50%), manganese (0.60–0.90%), silicon (0.10–0.35%), phosphorus (≤0.035%), sulfur (≤0.035%), and chromium (≤0.30%). The bars have a tensile strength of 700–900 MPa, yield strength of 450–600 MPa, and elongation of 14–18%. Brinell hardness is 200 to 250 HB, which is best suited for those applications that demand a compromise between hardness and toughness.
