Carbon steel ST 52 tube contains mostly carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The carbon content is usually in the range of up to 0.22%, with manganese content ranging between 1.60%. Phosphorus and sulfur are maintained at low levels, usually below 0.025%, to improve weldability and lower brittleness. Some of the mechanical properties involve tensile strengths of 490–630 MPa, yield strengths of 355 MPa, and elongation percentages of 18%, according to the grade. These tubes are constructed to operate in high-pressure conditions and are suitable for hydraulic use.
