FORA 450 wear-resistant steel plates consist of a low-alloyed steel with an upper limit of 0.26% carbon. Important alloying elements are manganese (up to 1.60%), silicon (up to 0.70%), chromium (up to 1.04%), nickel (up to 1.05%), and molybdenum (up to 0.60%). All these elements increase the hardness and wear resistance of the steel. Mechanical properties consist of Brinell hardness of 410–500 HB, yield strength of around 1200 MPa, tensile strength of 1400 MPa, and elongation of around 10%. These properties qualify FORA 450 plates for abrasive and high-impact applications.
